Hiking / Walking Tours
- Park lands surrounding the picturesque Avon River and Tom Patterson Island feature picnic areas, walking and cycling paths.
- For hiking enthusiasts, the Avon Trail offers a variety of nature walks. ThE avon Trail can be entered from the Old Grove on John Street in Stratford, near the Avondale Cemetery.
- The West Perth Thames Nature Trail offers a look at upland, aquatic and wetlands natural areas. The trail can be entered at Lions Park, Mitchell, west of Stratford on Highway 8 (Huron Street in Stratford).
- Within the city beautiful tree-lined streets with gorgeous homes and heritage architecture beckon the casual stroller.
- Just south on Highway 7, Wildwood Conservation Area offers more nature trails and cross-country skiing in the winter.
